Using extreme perspectives, bright colors, and cel animation, this brand campaign for GoPro shows the adventurous moment that can be captured through GoPro cameras.
By using cel animation, we were able to emphasize the GoPro camera’s unique wide angle style and wild content instead focusing on the footage itself.
Style Frames
Our style frames use a bright color palette to emphasize the extreme activities GoPro can help capture. An introduction with animated colorful dots helps emphasize the motion throughout the sport while further pushing that explosion of energy. Working in a group and having styleframes for each shot also helped us keep our style and color palette consistent throught the entire animation.
Rough Animation
We began planning out entire animation by sketching out our rough shots in sections as seen above. This allowed us to easily move shots around. By gathering all these shots together I was also able to plan out smoother transitions from shot to shot.
Moodboard
Process
Our moodboard consists of the bright colors we wanted to have throughout our piece, as well as the dynamic foreshortening of the characters in movement.We began with rough sketch, and slowly added more detail, color, and frames to make it smoother per shot.
